PTDF Scholarship Award
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) scholarship award is open for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The scholarship scheme offered by the federal ministry of petroleum resources provides students with funding for tuition, accommodation, living expenses and other educational costs.

PTDF Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
For MSc applicants:
Applicants must meet the following criteria before applying for the PTDF scholarship award;
- Have a minimum of Second Class upper (2:1) or Second Class lower(2:2) with relevant industry experience.
- Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Obtained a minimum of five (5) O-level credit passes, including Mathematics and English Language.
- A National Identification Number (NIN) must be obtained by applicants before proceeding to apply.
- Applicants must provide a Statement of Purpose (maximum 500 words) outlining the reason(s) for the planned study, its industrial relevance, and predicted influence on national development.
For PhD Applicants
- Must have completed the one year mandatory NYSC program.
- Applicants must have a first-degree grade of Second Class Lower (2.2) and a satisfactory second-degree certificate.
- Applicants must submit a five-page research proposal related to the oil and gas industry, which must include: Topic, introduction, goal, approach, and data collecting mode.
- All lecturers must present a letter from their Vice Chancellor verifying that they are not receiving any other awards.
- Must have National Identification Number (NIN) before applying.

Documents Required
The following documents must be scanned and uploaded on the online application portal before final submission.
- First Degree Certificate or Statement of Results.
- NYSC discharged certificate.
- WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results, as well as the PINs on the application forms, allowing PTDF to check O’level results on the appropriate website.
- A recent passport sized photograph.
- Identification Letter from the Local Government of origin.
- Certificate of Master’s Degree (PhD Applicants only).
- Proof of professional association membership.
