JAMB Cut Off Mark 2024

The official JAMB cut off mark 2024 is out following a closed-door meeting held in Abuja. Prof. Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, made this announcement to the public. The JAMB cut off mark is a minimum score a candidate must attain during the JAMB examination to be considered for admission into either University, Polytechnic or College of Education.

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board sets cut off marks into Universities, Polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions. However, it is important to note that the cut off mark vary among institutions.

JAMB Cut Off Mark 2024

Your admission to your desired course at the school you’ve applied to primarily hinges on your performance in the UTME. This performance is evaluated based on your JAMB and Post UTME scores, along with your O’ level results, which collectively determine your total aggregates.

For Universities, the JAMB cut-off mark is 140, although some Universities may set their own cut-off marks above this minimum requirement. The differences in these cut off marks depends on whether it is a Federal, State or Private University and the program of choice. Similarly, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have a JAMB cut-off mark of 120 or above, depending on the institution and courses.

It is important to note that no institution is allowed to admit students with scores below the approved minimum cut-off marks for the respective institutions. However, each institution has the right to set its own cut-off mark up to 220.

There are also some courses with specific cut off mark across various institution. Courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Accounting, Nursing and other professional courses usually have a higher cut-off mark set up by individual institutions. Student will have to score a very high UTME result way above the general JAMB benchmark as gaining admission to study any of these courses are usually very competitive.
